Incentives/Prizes   Band Payment   Why is this so great?

The Formal Presentation (PDF, 2.3M)   Fact Sheet (PDF, 23K)

What is it?  A charity fundraiser based on the number of “Birdies” shot in the AT&T Charity Golf Tournament.  It is similar to a walk-a-thon.  We solicit donations as a pledge based on a “per Birdie” or simply a cash contribution and 100% of the pledge is given to us.

Why is it such a great opportunity for us?  100% of the pledge (and more! see below) comes back to the Band and your students escrow account to be applied to only your student's band expenses.  If the total of all collections is greater than $2000, Bellsouth will give us “bonus” money based on how well our total compares to other organizations. On average, you will earn 16% more than your pledges. And, it's tax deductible!

How will collected pledges be allocated?  100% of the funds collected go to your escrow account and is “earmarked” for your 2007 Band Payment. Anything above your 2007 Band Payment will also go to your escrow for general escrow usage.  The Band Boosters offers additional rewards and rebates as incentive to the Band Parents/Students to reward their fundraising effort.  See below!

When? Now - April 18th.  Pledge Forms will be distributed at the Band Booster Meeting, to students in the band room and upon request to Randy or Tami Litton 770-923-7195 Payment   Pledges must be paid by due stated on the invoice to be counted for the added escrow and prizes.

Plan Details:

-         All pledges are tax deductible.

-         100% of the pledges collected are placed in the students escrow account.

-         The initial pledges collected are earmarked for the student’s 2007 Band Payment until it is reached. This can be achieved through any combination of pledges collected and family payment contributions towards 2007 Band Payment.  Once the 2007 Band Payment goal is achieved, additional amounts are escrowed for application as needed by the student.

-         Three Prize incentives are offered:

  • A Grand Prize and five $100 gift certificates will awarded after pledges are collected and awarded to us in July 2007.

  • Gift cards are granted to everyone based on amounts pledged.  Everyone is a winner for their level of pledges.  See the tiered “Gift Card” list below.

  • “Bonus Bucks” escrow rebate.  Every student that has pledges collected by the invoiced due date will get additional monies deposited to their escrow account.  This amount will be based on how well we do compared to other organizations and to the overall collected. Note: late payments will still be credited, but added escrow from Bonus Bucks (approx 6.5%) will not be awarded.

-         Seniors:  Because incentives target the 2007 Band Payment, a special consideration is granted for Seniors.  Seniors who collect pledges will be able to apply 100% of those pledges to their 2007 Senior Gift.  They can decide how best to use and apply those funds now.

OK, So why is this such a good deal?

You’re going to pay your 2007 Band Payment anyway.  This way,

  • Your payment will be made at the same time as it would have anyway (if by credit cards) or one month early (if by check).
  • You will earn back some of what you pay.  Gift cards for up to 10% of your pledges and additional escrow rebate will be returned back.  Escrow in 2005 was another another 5%!
  • Reduces the tax paperwork for your volunteer Treasurers!
  • Helps AT&T charities at the same time.

Why else?

  • Beat Brookwood at someting else!  The Brookwood Band has consistently been the pledge leader in this charity.  They use this for their band contributions, but they only get to apply 90%, we allow 100%!  Lat year, we were the number two charity behind Brookwood.
  • Eliminate one of our fundraisers next year.  If we do really well, we could reduce the need for one of the fundraisers next year.
