COMMUNITY EVENTS
The Gwinnett Community Band (GCB) an all adult concert band is looking for anyone interested in playing. The GCB plays about 12 concerts each year, most in the Gwinnett community area. We perform a variety of music ranging from symphonic, to pop, to marches, to Broadway musicals. One could best characterize the GCB as a fun group in which to play. There are no waiting lists, ninety percent of the membership of the band experienced a layoff from their instrument of 15 or more years before returning and there are no auditions. I repeat, THERE ARE NO AUDITIONS. We rehearse on Mondays 7:30 at Meadow Creek HS. We accept all instruments, but are particularly interested in Trumpets, French horns, bassoons, tubas and percussion. DESSERT PREVIEW - AUGUST 28th - 6:30
Plan to attend the Dessert Preview in the Cafeteria on August 28th at 6:30.  There will be a General Booster Meeting which will be followed by a Marching Preview that will take place on the Practice Field.  Come out and support the Marching Band.

HEAT INDEX INFORMATION
Click on this link to print the official GCPS Hot Weather Guidelines.
Click on this link for the current Heat Index Number.  You can print the Official Gwinnett County hot weather guidelines at the link above.
After printing the guidelines you can check the current Heat Index Number by clicking on the link above.  At the top of that web page enter the Lilburn zip code 30047 and click Go.  At the top left you will see two numbers. The current temperature and right under that number it says Feels Like and that number is the heat index!  That is the number that you can compare to the guidelines that you printed.  Mr. Magner knows these procedures, checks it and adheres to it.

BAND ACCOUNT INFORMATION

4 - 6 weeks after the event date that was worked. 
Account activity will be updated once a month at the end of the month.

 CLOTHING COLLECTION BOX
The Clothing Collection Box is now in place at Parkview.  It is in the Stadium parking lot on the left side near the ticket booth.  Please donate your used clothing.  The Band is paid by the pound.  The more we donate, the more money the Band gets.  The clothing is distributed to needy families in our area.  Please help these families and help the Band.
