The Parkview Symphonic Band was chosen to perform for the 2015 Music for All Southeastern Regional Concert Band Festival at Georgia State University. On February 19-20 our band will travel to GSU to perform, receive critiques, and masterclasses from professors and affiliate universities from across the southeast. We are one of 16 bands in the southeast invited to perform at this festival. This is an exciting and prestigious honor to be chosen for this festival and we are very proud of the hard work our students demonstrate every day!
Parkview band student, Jarrett Craven, recently placed honorable mention at the Georgia State High School Concerto Competition recently held at Georgia State University.
Jarrett was required to prepare a selection from standard Bassoon repertoire (Mozart's Bassoon Concerto). He submitted a video recording of his audition and was evaluated by the faculty at GSU.
In addition to placing honorable mention and receiving honorable mention, he will be recognized at the March 6th GSU Bands concert along with receiving a $100 cash price. We congratulate Jarrett for his outstanding performance!
